Hungary has the highest prevalence of problems related to alcohol consumption in Europe, with 21.2% of the total population affected. 36.9% of men and 7.2% of women suffer from alcohol dependence.
Balázs Pándi is an internationally acclaimed drummer who has lived a self-destructive life for 20 years, a path taken by many other musicians. However, after hitting rock bottom, he decided to get clean and asked for help. In a short documentary, our partner 444 followed Balázs for six months in this new situation, exploring the sacrifices and challenges of continuing to perform without relapse.
This offline event featured the premiere of 444’s new film about Balázs. The screening was followed by a panel discussion on the relationship between Hungarian youth and the use of alcohol and drugs. Alcoholism is a critical issue for 444 and was chosen as the subject of a monthly video, showing a young straight-edge guy at a hardcore punk concert. This video was also screened during the event, followed by a party and a meeting with the public.
