This rainbow family in Hungary continues to thrive, even if the government doesn’t approve

Tamás and István live near Budapest. They have been together for more than 15 years and in 2019, they became parents to twins.

The couple has always wanted to have children. For almost eight years, they fought for their right, eventually becoming one of the last same-sex couples to adopt, before a law that made it impossible was passed in Hungary. Since then, they don’t want to hide.

Openness and clear communication with the outside world have become their strategy – in real life and on Instagram. Our partners in Budapest @negynegynegy visited the family in their home.
