Sisi and Mc Ducky: two generations of Hungarian female rappers

​For our monthly series on ‘Generation Gap’, our Hungarian member 444 decided to profile two top Hungarian musicians. “Sisi”, 20, is an upcoming rapper and already an artists performing at various Hungarian festivals. She is for the young Hungarians, the face of the revival of the rap culture in the country. But when Sisi was just a toddler, the Hungarian rap scene was featuring another star, Mc Ducky. She was one of the first Hungarian female rapper in the 1990s, early 2000s. She now lives in Manchester but have left now the musical scene. 444 then investigated. How the situation of female rappers changed in Hungary in over two decades? How female rappers can find their audiences in a men-dominated musical industry? Are they able to live of their passions?
