Racism is an intergenerational experience

“Why do people have to be prejudiced? Because of prejudice, people think that just because you’re black you don’t know anything. People think you are only good for cleaning, they don’t see that you’re a person with a culture, who can do more than just clean” says Martha, who comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo and who has lived in Madrid since 1975. She is a member of the Afromayores, a project that seeks to deepen the black and Afro-descendant memory in Spain.
