In Warsaw, every school year students face a nearly impossible challenge

Every year, prospective students face the same decision: should they look for a flat, apply for a dormitory, or live with their parents (which is not always an option). Finding affordable housing in Warsaw is becoming close to impossible. Altogether, the five major public universities in Warsaw provide over 10,500 dormitory spots.

This is still a very small percentage compared to the total number of students (there are 221,000–247,000 students in Warsaw). The price for private housing is exorbitant.

How does that affect students and their everyday lives? ‪@KrytykaPolitycznaTV‬ is a Sphera Network member and this story is part of our “Housing” series.
