In Orbán’s Hungary, students continue to protect their rights

Otilia is a young students of Rajk College for Advanced Studies in Budapest. She is also part of The Tanítanék Movement (I would like to teach), founded in 2016 as a result of an open letter on the crisis of public education published by the board of the Herman Ottó High School in Miskolc.

Since then, the movement has organised several mass events (such as the education demonstration known as the “umbrella” protest) and participated in the writing of professional materials as part of the Civil Platform for Public Education.

In spring of 2022, the movement’s members mobilised, documented and coordinated the civil disobedience movement, which involved 400 schools and 8,000 teachers.

This is the fifth and last video of ‪@vdnews_ita‬ series on student action around Europe.
