Future of work

From xenophobia to exploitation, in Italy migrant workers are fighting for their basic rights

The northwest of Italy is well known for its industry. The area has become an important location for the logistic sector, and most of its workers are migrants, workers that, in a context of housing crisis and rising costs of living, are forced to accept very hard work conditions, low wages, and irregular contracts. In order to fight against this abuses and defend their labor rights many of them belong to Usb, a trade union which aims to struggle for precarious workers rights beyond the traditional main Unions in the country.

@elsaltotv travelled to Pavia to meet up with members of the union and get a glimpse of their everyday fight. This shortdoc is part of our “Stories Breaking Borders” series.
