On August 3, Budapest’s sky turned into a stage for science, music, and shared curiosity.
444.hu hosted a conversation with Dr. Zsolt Kővári, Scientific Advisor at the HUN-REN Institute for Astronomy and Geophysics, held in the garden of the Svábhegy Observatory in Normafa. During the discussion, Dr. Kővári spoke about his research on the starspots of the red giant XX Trianguli (located approximately six hundred light years from Earth), the astronomical applications of structural engineering, the impact of solar flares on our planet, the new golden age of Hungarian astronomy, and the importance of science communication.
Despite the unusually cold and rainy weekend, more than 200 attendees joined for the event. Following the talk, the Observatory’s staff offered a short guided presentation on the history and significance of this remarkable astronomical site. The garden atmosphere was complemented by live music performed by Sierra Delta.
This event was organized as part of the Sphera project.
