One week before the European elections, independent journalism took centre stage at the Gaîté Lyrique in Paris.
Since 2021, the Sphera network has been bringing together independent European media to focus on issues at the heart of our continent’s future: social justice, climate change, human rights and democracy. Because Sphera is a place of experimentation where new voices can emerge and thrive, voices that embody the Europe of tomorrow.
Sphera is a network of independent media working for a more humane and engaged European journalism. That’s why we wanted to show as many people as possible the kind of journalism that brings out new voices and tells the story of tomorrow’s Europe.
The programme of “L’Europe de demain” included a debate on access to housing for young people in Europe, a live podcast on the impact of artificial intelligence, a photography exhibition ‘At the borders of Europe’ and ‘Censored’, an exhibition of online videos censored by social networking algorithms. All this were accompanied by a rebroadcast of the first European independent media live show and an open-air DJ set, carte blanche to the European Media Lab.
