Elevate is an annual interdisciplinary festival held in various venues in Graz, Austria, with a strong focus on cultural and socio-political topics.
In addition to performances, concerts, installations and DJ sets, the interdisciplinary program offers workshops, film screenings, lectures and discussions.
With its unique combination of critical-political discourse and art, contemporary electronic music and audio-visual experiments, the festival opens up a space for innovative content. Since 2016 Elevate is a partner in two Creative Europe projects: We Are Europe & Re-Imagine Europe.
Amongst the guests are Human rights experts, climate researchers and activists from all over the world, who gather in Graz once a year with musicians and artists, illuminating pertinent issues of our future.
The festival’s opening event will be held on August 4th 2021 in Graz at Next Liberty Theater.
Sphera Day at Elevate
Throughout the year, the Sphera team is also on the ground organising Sphera Days: five days of large-scale physical debates addressing some of Sphera’s themes in collaboration with 5 European festivals.
Each festival develops a programme of conferences and content creation activities linked to themes covered within the Sphera project, including culture, digital technologies, economy, the future of work and more.
Elevate is hosting its very own distinctive Sphera Day on Saturday 7 August, with 4 conferences addressing topics such as communication technologies, media, investigative journalism and net politics.
