“Highways to hell”: this French climate collective is on a mission to stop ecocides

Les Soulevements de la Terre (LSDT) is a group of French environmental activists who oppose the construction of infrastructure projects that would harm the environment. The group uses civil disobedience and sabotage to achieve their goals.

One example: the construction of the A69 motorway. A road that will connect Toulouse and Castres. The construction of the motorway will cost the destruction of 400 hectares and centuries-old trees. The fight against these projects is becoming increasingly intense.

But the activists no longer know how else to defend themselves. Despite their different methods, there is a sense of solidarity between the organisations.

El Salto has documented the experiences of three individuals who have been affected by the construction of the A69 motorway.
