What is “doughnut economy” and what does it have to do with climate change?

The doughnut economy is a visual framework for sustainable development – shaped like a doughnut or lifebelt, combining the concept of planetary boundaries with the complementary concept of social boundaries. This is a model proposed by University of Oxford economist Kate Raworth.

But how does it work and will it save the planet?
