The EU plan to build a tobacco-free Generation by 2040

Tobacco use is the largest avoidable health risk and the most significant cause of premature death in the EU. About 700,000 people die each year from cigarettes. A slight improvement can be seen in young people whose smoking rate between 15 and 24 years dropped from 29% in 2017 to 20% in 2020
