Persecuted in Exile: activists and their families who can’t hide from the Guinean authorities

Fausta is the daughter, sister, niece and wife of opponents repressed by the dictatorship of Teodoro Obiang, and herself a fighter for freedom and against the impunity of a tyranny that has been in power in her country, Equatorial Guinea, since 1979.

She has been living in exile in Madrid for seven years and is one of the initiators of a lawsuit in the Spanish National Court for the kidnapping of four activists, including her brother Martin.

This is the first time that senior members of Equatorial Guinea’s dictatorship have been tried for human rights violations.
