Persecuted for being a woman: the story of Iranian actress Sadaf Baghbani

Sadaf Baghbani is a young Iranian actress. Back in her home country, she fought for women’s rights until she could, especially after the brutal death of Mahsa Amini. Once, during a protest, she was shot 150 times with a pellet gun.

She still bears the scars today. Recently, Sadaf moved to Italy, the only country where she managed to get a student visa. ‪@vdnews_ita‬ talked to her about the future of Iran and the reality of building a new life from scratch away from home.
