Malik, abandoned and fighting for his right to work

20-year-old Malik grew up in Saint Quentin, in the north of France. Having grown up in foster families and homes, he has experienced plenty of abuse and abandonment since childhood.

On his 18th birthday, he found himself on the streets, and started his fight to be officially recognised by the state.

Today, Malik lives alone, in a room in a workers’ hostel. He is looking for work to finance his studies, which he hopes to resume next year.
