In Poland, food banks against food waste

45% of Poles admit to wasting food at home. Studies show that consumers are responsible for about 60% of wasted food in Poland – less than 3 million tons per year. The rest is wasted by shops and restaurants, among others.

At the same time, the number of people living in extreme poverty and below the social minimum is growing in the country.

@KrytykaPolitycznaTV‬ spent some time with food banks workers and talked to them about saving food from ending up in the landfill and helping those in need.
