Hungary’s Elections: The Generational Breaking Point

The 2026 Hungarian elections will be the first time a generation born and raised during the Fidesz and Viktor Orbán era will be voting. Polls suggest they’ll probably swing the result in the next election, partly because turnout is expected to be really high and they’re generally against Orbán.

@negynegynegy had a chat with young voters and political activists to see what they think. According to political scientist and sociologist Andrea Szabó, with their vote, young people are being asked to come up with a better vision of the future – something that Fidesz isn’t really doing.
