The Carpathian forest is an important place for biodiversity of Poland and it’s the home of wildcats, bears or even eagles. The forest has been massively exploited for hundreds of years and now is much smaller than it used to be. This is why, the group called “Wild Carpathians Initiative” has the goal to change the status of the Carpathian forest and make it a National Park. This new status would make it more protected by the polish law and may stop its extinction.
