Feminism needs to decolonise: this is why

The mainstream feminist movement often reproduces the systemic oppressions of racism, therefore excluding people of colour. But there are women who offer a different vision.

Françoise Vergès is a French political scientist and historian who has written the book “A decolonial feminism”. Lallab is a feminist and anti-racist Muslim women’s organization, whose goal is to make Muslim women’s voices heard and defend the rights of those who are at the heart of sexist, racist and Islamophobic oppression.

@Popagandagr‬ went to Paris to meet the women who are changing the feminist discourse. This shortdoc is part of our “Stories Breaking Borders” series. To watch other films in the series, check out our channel.
