Every year the European Environment Agency and the European Commission publish the annual report on coastal and inland bathing waters. Last year 93% of EU countries met the required minimum water quality standards. Cyprus, Austria, Greece, Malta and Croatia top the list with over 95% of their bathing waters rated as excellent.
