A university camp for Palestine in Madrid has become a site of intersectional struggle

In May 2024 and again in May 2025, students occupied the Complutense University of Madrid to denounce the genocide in Gaza and demand an end to institutional ties with the Israeli state.  @elsaltodiario  met Maria, a PhD student who spent over a month living in the camp.

Through her voice, the protest for Palestine emerges as a space of political organization and intersectional resistance. This story is part of our “Gen Z” series.
