Sphera Network — coordinated and managed by Médianes — is recruiting an Editorial Marketing & Impact Officer on a fixed-term contract (CDD). The position will primarily focus on Sphera’s European editorial activities. The employer and legal entity for this role is Médianes (France).

Job Description
Working alongside Médianes’ Editorial Director and in close coordination with the Sphera Network team, you will contribute to steering the impact, distribution and visibility of editorial products developed by Médianes and Sphera.
As the reference person for audience strategy and editorial marketing, you will work directly with journalists and content creators producing Médianes’ content, as well as with editorial, marketing and communications teams from independent partner media within Sphera across Europe.
The role sits at the intersection of editorial, distribution, communications and audience strategy. It combines strategic oversight, campaign coordination and the creation of distribution content, particularly for social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), newsletters, websites and other promotional formats.
The position covers a dual scope: approximately 70% dedicated to Sphera editorial products and 30% to Médianes editorial products. You will work closely with the graphic team and be supported by a communications intern.
The role primarily focuses on Sphera’s editorial products aimed at young European audiences, within a multilingual context, while also contributing clearly to the dissemination and visibility of Médianes’ B2B-oriented content.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sphera — Campaigns, distribution and impact strategy (45%)
- Define and lead the audience, distribution and impact strategy for Sphera’s editorial products, in close coordination with the Network Lead.
- Analyze audiences, usage patterns and audience journeys at a European level to inform editorial and distribution choices.
- Contribute to prioritizing key editorial moments and ensuring overall coherence across productions.
- Define, monitor and analyze impact indicators, in collaboration with StreetPress, and contribute to audience and impact deliverables for European-funded projects.
- Contribute to documenting editorial, audience and impact justifications for content produced within European projects led by Médianes.
2. Sphera — Distribution, social media & content creation (25%)
- Design and coordinate campaigns to distribute and promote Sphera content (newsletters, social media — organic and paid — partnerships, websites, events).
- Lead social media presence and distribution strategy in line with editorial and impact objectives.
- Create distribution content (short formats, copywriting, editorial adaptations, visual briefs) in collaboration with editorial and graphic teams.
Implement distribution actions with support from a communications intern. - Support journalists in circulating their work within the Sphera network.
3. Médianes — Editorial products & brand strategy (30%)
- Lead audience and distribution strategy for Médianes-branded editorial content.
- Contribute to structuring and evolving Médianes’ editorial products within a product-oriented approach.
- Promote Médianes’ projects, research, programs and public interventions.
- Strengthen community engagement and ensure brand coherence.
- Contribute to aligning editorial strategy, audience development and economic models.
- Occasional editorial contributions may be possible depending on projects and interests, but this is not the core of the role.
Profile
- Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, social sciences, editorial project management or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, product or editorial content production, particularly in digital environments.
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, is required. Knowledge of another European language is a plus.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g. Figma) is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of media ecosystems and editorial independence issues.
- Ability to analyze audience data, understand platform dynamics and audience behavior, and formulate strategic recommendations.
- Ability to design, adapt and produce content, especially for social media, aligned with demanding and engaged editorial lines.
- Strong organizational skills, autonomy and initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively with editorial, marketing and European partners in multicultural and multilingual contexts.
- Strong interest in independent media, Europe and socially impactful, democracy-driven projects.

Recruitment Process
- Application (CV and motivation questionnaire) via an online form.
- First interview: a 45-minute conversation with the Editorial Director to discuss background, experience and the role’s challenges. A short practical exercise will be proposed afterward.
- Second interview and case discussion: a conversation with the Sphera Network Lead and a journalist to discuss the exercise, proposed choices and working approach.
Contract & Conditions
- Contract type: Fixed-term contract (CDD) until January 31, 2027.
- Start date: As soon as possible.
- Working time: 35 hours per week.
- Salary: Approx. €32,000 gross annually, depending on profile and experience, according to the applicable salary scale.
- Employer: Médianes SAS.
- Collective agreement: SYNTEC (IDCC 1486).
- Eligibility: Candidates must hold a valid work permit for France or be eligible to work in the European Union. Médianes is unable to sponsor work visas for this position.
- Organization: Hybrid work arrangement with remote work possible from within metropolitan France or from another EU country, provided the candidate is available during core working hours (French time zone, CET/CEST) and can travel to Paris regularly for team meetings and collective sessions.
- Travel: Occasional travel in France and Europe may be required, particularly for Sphera Network activities.

- Location: Bright offices in Paris 11th arrondissement, shared with other independent media, agencies and engaged networks. A significant part of the team works remotely and regularly travels to Paris. The team is distributed across Paris, Toulouse, Biarritz, Marseille, several Breton cities and other European cities.
