France: Raped in her own home, the French justice did not believe her

Born in Ireland, Maureen Kearney was a trade unionist of Areva, the former French state owned nuclear company. Maureen starts denouncing a contract with a Chinese nuclear company. Then, she starts being pressured by some Areva executives and on December 17th 2012, she is the victim of a violent attack at her home. She is raped by a man and the letter A is marked with a knife on her stomach. Right after, she is accused of lying by the police and condemned in 2017 for false allegation. In 2018, she is found not guilty in a second trial. Today, she is retired and volunteers for a charity which helps women victims of domestic abuse.
