Italy & Poland: Why I don’t wan’t to have children

We are observing a decreasing fertility rate in Poland and Italy. In 2021, in Poland the fertility rate was 1.32 children per woman, in Italy it was 1.25. In both cases, these figures are below the European average of 1.5. Italy: Francesca, 28, underwent a salpingectomy: a surgical removal of one or both Fallopian tubes. She chose to have this surgery because she always knew that she does not have children. Poland: Agnieszka, mother of two children sick with a highly developed autism. She declares that she would have never decided to become a mother is she knew how little support you can get by the state.
