France VS Greece: The fight against police brutality

Police brutality is the source of major public concern in both France and Greece.
In 2019, France recorded 868 investigations into intentional police violence*, 292 of them were linked to the “Yellow Vests” protests, during which Jérôme, 43, lost his eye after being hit by a police “scatter grenade”. In Greece, Danai, 28, was severely wounded after a police “flash bomb” hit her leg during a peaceful protest on the 3rd of May.
Greece is often criticized by human rights groups for police violence; a 2021 report by Amnesty International revealed the illegal use of force by Greek police during the Covid pandemic.
