In recent years, the Recirquel Contemporary Circus company has become a significant international player. Their performances cleverly and spectacularly combine elements of contemporary dance and aerial acrobatics, creating uniquely atmospheric productions.
Thanks to these, they regularly win awards, such as at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and are invited to major stages worldwide, from New York to Gothenburg.
Our Hungarian partners @negynegynegy spent a day with the company and got a first-hand look at the effort and risk it takes to work in a circus. They talked about how this risk is managed, how much blind trust is needed among colleagues, and how this mutual reliance affects a closely working community.
