Poland: what about voter turnout in the European Elections?

Voter turnout is a huge factor in every election. In Poland, European Parliament elections saw a 20.9% turnout in 2004, 24.55% in 2009, 23.83% in 2014, and a record 45.68% in 2019. In November 2023, a staggering 75% of the population voted in the national elections.

Campaigns by feminist movements and social organizations encouraging people to vote made a huge difference in those numbers.

Similar campaigns are being prepared now, ahead of the European elections. ‪@KrytykaPolitycznaTV‬ is a Sphera Network member and this story is part of our “European Elections” series.
