István Kovács comes from a many-generation family of miners, and his opportunities predestined him to the exact same fate as his ancestors: he worked as a miner, and would most likely have remained one until the end of his working years—if, in the meantime, all deep mining operations in the country hadn’t been shut down.
He also became an influencer. Turned out, a large part of the public simply cannot accept that a man working with his hands can express himself on cultural, political, and other societal or worldview-related topics in such a comprehensive manner as he does.
István’s story is an example of how deeply rooted stereotypes are and how difficult it can be to break them.
