On Women’s Day, Poland’s first abortion clinic opened just a few steps’ away from the government buildings.
In a country where abortion and women’s reproductive rights remain a controversial topic, this opening marks a special milestone. Abortion Dream Team is an abortion rights group in Poland.
The aid networks like theirs have almost completely taken over the state’s responsibility for administering abortions. Abortion Without Borders performs 130 abortions a day, last year the aid network performed 47,000 abortions, compared to 787 in hospitals in Poland.
